How to post pictures in your Plog!

By shad0wyn - Posted on 16 April 2009

Pumpkin ploggers now have the option to attach a photo to their plog entry!

Images are larger than 500x500 will be resized. The maximum upload size is 2 MB. Only files with the following extensions may be uploaded: jpg jpeg gif png txt pdf .

If you haven't started your plog yet... view this plog entry to see how!

After you start to create a plog entry (Click on create content)... below the text window is a section called "Image Picker"

You may "browse" your desktop for an image. (Click the Browse button)

Leave the Thumbnail size at the default setting of 100

Ignore the Scale Image box

Add a title or description if you wish

Click "Upload!

*** IMPORTANT! ****
At this point, you have only uploaded the photo to "your imagepicker gallery"

Once your image is uploaded, (there should be a small thumbnail of your image) select whether you would like to post your full size, thumbnail or only the title of your image.

Leave the link setting at "none"

*** In the text box above the image picker window, put your blinking cursor where you would like the image to be inserted.
THEN click "Insert Image" in the image picker window.

Cucumber seedlings

You will notice that there is now a block of text that looks something like this:

<img src="http://coloradopumpkins.com/main/sites/default/files/imagepicker/s/shad0wyn/cukeseedlingsq.jpg" alt="Cucumber seedlings" />

DON'T FIDDLE WITH THE CODE! unless you know what you are doing!

Don't forget to save your post at the bottom of the page!

Please contact Shadowyn if you are still having problems after following the instructions step by step!

ALSO! The message boards are working again!

Hi Ron,

Sounds like you got the photo into the gallery ok... once your photo is uploaded, did you click in the text window where you wanted your picture to appear and then click "insert image"? Let me know via the "contact us" page if you have any more problems!

IE7 may also be blocking the script that Image Picker is using.

Shadowyn

"Image Picker" doesn't show up on my IE 7 browser when creating content in my plog. I was able to upload a photo into the gallery, but could not locate the imgsrc= code anywhere when viewing the photo. HELP!! :-)
